As part of broader trade sanctions against Russia, the UK has introduced a ban on iron and steel of Russian origin.
Starting from September 30th 2023, the UK will enforce a ban on the import of third-country processed iron and steel of Russian origin.
To help businesses comply, the Government has issued guidance which clarifies the ban’s scope and the necessary documentation to demonstrate evidence of a good’s supply chain.
Importers are advised to include non-Russian origin assurances in their contracts.
